Gratitude is the very Motor of Life

People who are grateful for what they have often receive more and more because of this gratitude.

Conversely, people who only complain about what they don't have often receive from life less and less.

Why is this?

This appears to be the way life actually works from my lifetime of observations since around 1950.

So, if you are grateful for all the good things in your life then the likelihood is more and more good can also come into your life because your gratitude makes room for more good things.

However, if all you do is complain you don't open yourself for good things to happen to you.

For example, I have heard people say, "I couldn't live the life you do Fred. I wouldn't feel worthy of that life."

But, if you and God are straight in that you have made your peace with God you should be able to accept then every good thing into your life and not be punishing yourself.

If God thinks you are worthy who are you to judge yourself?

So, a part of having a good life is not interfering with God literally giving you any and every good thing.

So, you have to be open to a good life to have and to accept it.

And the easiest path to being open to a good life is gratitude for what you already have.

For example, when you are young if you are healthy you might not have things but you have health, youth  and some free time and young friends.

This is something to be grateful for. Because I guarantee this won't be the way your life always is. So, be grateful and enjoy it while you can. Because if you don't die from something really stupid that you do until you are 30 you eventually will get to be almost 70 like me and then you  will have completely different problems than now.

Now, I don't worry about money. I worry about health and I worry about my children who are literally all over the world and adults. So, I'm grateful I had health enough for my age to still travel and ski and ride a Dual sport motorcycle on days I feel on my game enough to feel safe doing this.

A Dualsport just means it is legal both on road and off road. In other words I own a round the world motorcycle of the kind that you can literally ride it around the world on any terrain you need to. It's sort of in the same class as in the Ewan McGreggor movie "Long Way Round".

I have literally driven this motorcycle across streams in the back country with water low enough to do this that cross dirt roads. It's also a very tall motorcycle with long shock action for bumps in the backcountry too which also gives you more ground clearance sort of like a 4 wheel drive vehicle. And it has a skid plate under the engine in case the plate hits rocks too tall to clear or even fallen trees over a road for some people.

But, the real point here is that unless you are grateful for what you already have it is very unlikely that you will receive more and you might even receive less from life until you learn this lesson.

Why is it like this?

Part of it is: "No one wants to listen to you complain." So, concentrating on being grateful for what you do have more than complaining will change your life.

By God's Grace
