Many people visiting Las Vegas don't know about things like Red Rock Canyon (for people who love the out of doors) and Mt. Charleton (for people who also love the out of doors or skiing in the winter) both of which are relatively near Las Vegas. There is also Hoover Dam close by (at least until they demolish it (You saw it in the Earthquake Move: "San Andreas").
Then if you like helicopter rides to places like the Grand Canyon or wherever there are also helicopter rides. From my room I watched at at least 100 of them because my hotel is in the landing pattern of the helicopters at the Jet port nearby.
So, you don't have to just be cooped up in your room on the strip just seeing shows or whatever you like to do here, you can also get some exercise and fresh air if you rent a car even for a day while you are here. If you drove from L.A. or elsewhere in California or nearby then you don't even have to rent a car.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
