People of Earth is an American science fiction comedy television series created by David Jenkins about a support group for alien abductees as well as the aliens who have previously abducted them. People of earth is very funny and if you like this sort of thing I think you all should watch it and laugh your asses off.
However, it IS a 1950s viewpoint about all of this. Generally, people have evolved who have studied and experienced these kinds of things ongoing since the 1950s.

So, my point of view about all this sort of thing, (Especially as a Californian) is quite different than the point of view of people on the East Coast for example.
So, imagine your family was multi-generally aware of UFO contact with the People of Earth ongoing since the 1940s and 1950s.Your point of view is very very very evolved from the "People of Earth" point of view of the TBS TV show even though it is very funny, at this point
it is also highly inaccurate regarding what is actually going on and has been going on before there were any cultures or tribes of people roaming the earth.
I think to understand this better it is about "Worlds of Awareness".
For example, imagine you are a fish in the ocean and your kind has never seen a human being before. So, one day on vacation a human being drops into the ocean and you see one in SCUBA Gear. And then you tell your relatives of the same species what you saw.
No one is going to believe you.
Did you actually see what you saw? Yes. Definitely.
But, scientifically you cannot prove what you saw can you?
So, then where are you?
You are exactly where millions and millions of people still alive are here on earth where they saw something on earth that they absolutely positively can not explain with present words. But, here's the thing!
They all did see what they saw and no one anywhere is going to convince them that they didn't see what they saw and you will find that many of these millions saw exactly the same things.
Does that make the rest of the human race wrong when they don't believe?
No. Why should they believe something they never saw.
But, does that deny what they saw(the ones that saw it). No.
It still happened.
That's the thing it still happened to them and because it happened to them they know the truth.
"Know the Truth and it will Set you Free"
