This storm has been spinning counter-clockwise now for 24 to 48 hours or more on West Coast
What this means in real time is basically the same clouds are heading north from between Ukiah and Eureka in California, then north to either Vancouver or Seattle and then heading out to sea gathering more and more moisture and then doing the same thing by running mostly up the northern Coasts of California Oregon and Washington and sometimes into Canada as well. So not only are some of the same clouds (and more being gathered out at sea all the time) off of the ocean going up northward through Ukiah to Eureka and points north to Canada but they are also continuously dropping rain and snow up the coast all this way inland as far a Ashland, Redding, Klamath Falls and Mt. Shasta and points north dumping snow mostly that far inland. So, snow is the result if you go inland more than 20 to 50 miles or less (depending upon the altitude) and the center of this counterclockwise buzz saw of a storm is a low pressure area slowly but slowly headed south along the coast. Though I have seen several of these things so far the past few years they still intrigue me the way they operate almost like Winter Hurricanes in some ways the way they spin like this with a lot of wind and rain and Snow. For example, here yesterday from another wing of this same storm we were treated to 20 to 30 mile per hour constant winds with Gusts upwards of 45 miles per hour. Luckily we didn't lose power but many others on the SF Bay GREATER area did.
