When Prayers Manifest in Reality: Be Grateful!

This might sound like a strange thing to say but Gratitude is the motor of Grace which is the motor of life.

Without Gratitude nothing really works in life.

If all you are is disappointed with everything in life every day then your life has no room for anything but disappointment.

But, if you look around and focus on what you have to be grateful for then that gratitude that you share with yourself and others to God creates more and more Grace in your life ongoing.

This might be my most important observation of the last almost 70 years of my life!

By God's Grace

Here' another truism that demonstrates this:

Laugh, and the world laughs with you

Cry and you Cry Alone

IN my younger life since I have a very analytical and logical brain I can also be very cynical. So, I often had to be careful of this quality not only in understanding everything mechanical or scientific much more than most people do, I also had to be careful of not just being really cynical.

So, often I was suspicious of people who were optimists, especially because my parents were ministers and Mystical Christian ministers who are somewhat similar to Christian Scientists in their thinking. In other words they refused to go to doctors and I watched a lot of them just die who I loved in my church growing up. So, as a more scientific, logical, pragmatic person I thought, "Why are all these people dying when they don't have to?"

I couldn't answer this question then but now I realize they were dealing with childhood abuse and traumas which forced them to think this way from PTSD. But, I didn't study psychology until I was in my early 20s so I didn't know this growing up yet.

But, in my middle 40s I was going through and awful divorce and the woman who saved me and became my next wife was an incurable optimist. It was at this point where I realized almost no one is alive (very long) after 40 to 45 unless they are somewhat of an optimist.

So, I realized if I wanted to live to an old age I had to become and optimist too or soon I would  be dead. So, whenever I could I have listened to my wife the last 25 years or so since we got together.

Because without her and God's optimism I would have died at the latest by age 50 already.

So, Thank God for optimistic people who are practical too!
