How does a person heal from traumas in their life?
One way is to talk about those traumas. Somehow just speaking about the traumas we have experienced often releases the confusion that might kill someone or drive them insane otherwise.
I cannot explain why this is true. But, somehow what seems to happen is that the person is able to make some kind of quantum leap in being able to talk about what has been bothering them and often form a new reality or perception which might begin to heal the trauma enough so someone can begin to cope with their lives in a more useful way once again.
So, one of the ways people heal is to write down what is bothering them. Often they don't ever show this to anyone else or take the paper and burn it in the fireplace or somewhere else. So, often it isn't for public (or anyone's view) but rather something a person does to heal themselves from traumas (which can literally be anything in their lives). If you can make enough sense about what has happened to you in your life often you can move forward as a whole new person which becomes modified by allowing the pain out in ways helpful to your survival as a human being here on earth or beyond.
