As an Independent:

My point of view is that parts of the Democratic party have gone too far to the left and this might cost them the election when the Democratic party needs to get serious and very very very pragmatic instead.

However, younger people tend to be idealists and more to the left in their thinking. More of them by 30 and 40 years of age after having to support a family will move to the center or even to the right as they see what it actually takes financially to run a family and to succeed at all here in the U.S.

I think moving from being an idealist in my 20s to an idealistic pragmatist by my late 20s being married and raising a son in some ways was completely heart breaking having to be that realistic instead of idealistic.

Idealism sounds really good but just isn't going to work just like many social programs sound really good but who really is going to pay for them in the end? Most people just aren't going to pay for the social programs (of any kind) that the far left wants. and this is the reality we all face here in the U.S.

So, my point of view as an independent is simply this: "IF the Democratic party cannot become moderate enough to elect a Democratic president then our democracy is gone, and NATO is gone before the 2024 elections.

This is a very pragmatic and realistic assessment of reality. Of course something else could happen too. But given all present variables this is exactly what we are looking at right now.

But, in order to have a "FAIR" election without Putin involved Trump would have to clean up the election process and that is very very very unlikely.

So, because of this one factor of Putin being presently allowed to meddle in our elections our democracy might already be strangling to death in the corner so to speak. We will see!

HOWEVER! Without something like free college tuition for all here in the U.S. the U.S. likely will fail as a nation during this century! Of this I am presently certain. To Shackle all our children to endless student loan payments at loan rates way too high is suicidal for the U.S.! Even Obama and his wife both as lawyers were paying back student loan debt well into their late 40s.

This has got to stop! We need to end student loans at the very least for community colleges and for 4 year bachelor's degree programs as well!

I was able to afford to pay off my sons student loans as we agreed but his loans were less than $40,000. But many of my friends children are saddled with horrible student loans and people I know with Masters Degrees sometimes have student loans of $90,000 to $100,000 dollars when they are 50 years old or older also. This is crazy!

I myself had trouble with student loans in the 1990s when I became ill. Luckily, I found a way to deal with all of this but some people have to literally leave the country to avoid their student loan death just to survive!
