Canyonville smoke as far south as Mt. Shasta as of Friday
I haven't spoken with people in Shasta yet about this but it looks like smoke has gone as far south as the Mt. Shasta area or even further south with Ashland and Medford completely smoke covered as of Friday. This is the first big fire of the season so far. Last year from about july 5th Mt. Shasta city had 40 days straight of smoke. But, of course that was a terrible fire season and this one is just beginning now. I had to leave Mt. Shasta on the 5th because I couldn't breathe well enough to stay with that much smoke last year because I live at Sea Level and at 3500 feet with that much smoke it wasn't going to work for me at my present age of 71. So, if you are in a smoky area find ways to breathe and to stay alive through all the smoke. For most healthy younger people this is less of a problem if you are adjusted to the altitude wherever you are.
