If you are trying to escape the heat try the northern California coast

So, whether you are on vacation or want to stay somewhere more permanently if you want a cooler summer experience try from about Morro Bay north all the way into Canada. I like the Greater San Francisco Bay area myself. But, be prepared for what is called the June Glooms which just means that for at least June it's going to be high and low fog and clouds most of that month. Last year, 2018 it began in April and lasted until August or September which upset a lot of people. But, in reality what that means is temperatures from about 59 to 75 in the Daytime between April and August or September as average daytime temperatures with lows between the 40s and 50s (mostly 50s during April to September as well. So, if you are trying to escape triple digit temperatures and don't want to ever buy an air conditioner again think about the northern California coast likely all the way up to Canada. But, remember California is pretty expensive too especially along the coast because you aren't the first person who wanted to be away from triple digit Fahrenheit temperatures in the summer. Where I live in the summer time 10 miles inland it can be 20 to 30 degrees more than where I live. But, there is a band of low temperatures and fog high and low and clouds coming off the ocean often from about Morro Bay and further north long into the summer. For example, while some of you are having 115 degree heat indexes the high here was 71 today and the low in the mid 50s Fahrenheit here on the coast.

Though we have thought about selling our home on the coast because our kids now all live in Oregon or Europe it's days like today that we are glad to be somewhere cool enough not to need Air Conditioning right here on the northern California coast.

But, we also travel a lot so I have experienced up to 103 degrees in places like Redding, Red Bluff or Santa Nella already this summer.
