This is why most Sunni nations that are afraid of Iran's 1 million Strong Military (the biggest outside of Israel in the middle East) really want Trump to do something else now because they remember Iran the last 1000 years and they aren't about to back down or negotiate, they are ready to fight. However, traditionally Iran never strikes the first blow into a war, someone else has to. So, Trump is the problem here on many levels not Iran. It's true that Iran is the foremost supporter of Shia Terrorism throughout the Middle East. But, it is also true that Saudi Arabia is the foremost supporter (the people not the government) of Al Qaida and ISIS in the middle east through billions of Oil money. So, to say that Saudi Arabia (the people) are the foremost supporters of Al Qaida and ISIS and that Iran is the foremost supporter of Hezbollah and other terrorist Shia groups is actually more realistic to say than anything else.
So, I guess what I'm saying here is Trump's total miscalculations likely will start a World War III (hopefully without Nukes in the middle east at this point. This will naturally drive oil to 100,200, or 300 dollars a barrel and oil stops flowing out of the straight of Hormuz over the next few years time.
Also, Russia wants high oil prices but if Trump attacks Iran with large weapons expect Russia to attack U.S. forces (at least in a proxy kind of way). Russia considers most Sunni Oil producers it's enemies in this and that's why they are aligned with Shia Muslim predominantly Iran in all this.
Putin thinks Saudi Arabia helped financially collapse the Soviet Union when he was a KGB Colonel in East Germany before the Berlin Wall fell. And because of this he wants revenge on Saudi Arabia anyway he can get it but likely through Iran now.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
