Biden is the ONLY candidate (from a purely pragmatic point of view) who can actually defeat Trump in 2020. Yes. it is quite possible that Republicans are presently so angry at Trump about the Kurds that he very well will be impeached by both houses of Congress and will be removed from office. However, there is no law that says he cannot run for president again even if removed from office which is really strange but true too.
But, if Biden is failing as a Democratic candidate for president, if Trump is still running and not removed from office likely no one can win against him as of now. Another candidate (just like Hillary) might win the popular vote but you know that Putin and Trump will once again find a way to beat the Democratic candidate through the electoral college.
Of course variables none of us know about could also arise by then (elections) too like the Republicans assassinating Trump or a Kurd taking him out simply because they have just had enough of him or because someone or many someone's died because of Trump like today.
