I think especially Christians might have the most problem with this point of view because Deism whether the Deity is God or Jesus is pre-emminent in Christianity. Whereas in Buddhism, Buddha doesn't really say there is no God he is saying that one should alleviate suffering because suffering isn't useful to human beings. So, alleviating suffering is more important than Deism. By ending one's suffering (from my point of view) then your experience with Deism is much more evolved from a truly enlightened state of Being. From this state you tend to approach God more as a mentor and Friend than a victim like most people tend to approach God as.
I find this enlightened way of looking at things much more useful. Because if you approach God as a victim then as a victim often you want to manipulate God in unhealthy ways which is always counterproductive to your life.
But, if God is your mentor and friend it is an entirely different relationship and much more useful to your long term well being as well as more useful to everyone you will ever meet in life as well.
