Why?
Because many nations only exist really to be vacation spots for people from Europe and the U.S. and richer nations around the world. So, when you cut off all tourists you squeeze the life out of the locals. Their lives collapse during something like this. They have no unemployment compensation. They have no savings necessarily so they just starve if they don't have enough money to buy food.
So, a worldwide pandemic like this that kills all travel between all nations kills 3rd world nations that are primarily tourist destinations around the world.
It's true that many places in the U.S. are tourist destinations like Florida and California and Hawaii but they have rich Federal and State and local governments to help them through these crises.
But, many 3rd world nation's governments are already hanging on by a thread to begin with and this might just economically or physically collapse them or both during the next few years of the pandemic here on earth.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
