In 2019, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation contributed $531 million to WHO more than any other country other than the U.S.
This is from PBS NEWSHOUR on April 15th 2020 Wednesday.
I'm thinking that WHO had to put up with whatever China told them about coronavirus. They likely wouldn't have been given the actual freedom to be allowed to investigate Coronavirus like they might have wanted to. After all, Chinese doctors were sanctioned for even talking about coronavirus at first. It was only after many many people had died that the government was forced to deal with all this in a more realistic way.
So, if WHO was a country that was powerful it could have done what Trump said. BUT, it is ONLY a non-profit health organization trying to serve the whole world's pandemic and health needs. I think it should be supported by the U.S. government because without it thousands to millions more are going to die around the world. Many countries all that they have is WHO helping them and that's all.
They may not have a Dr. Fauci or Dr. Birx to tell them the scientific truth about the virus where they live. So, Thousands to millions of lives will be lost worldwide if Trump decides to defund WHO.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
