South to Santa Barbara on Business

There was a storm brewing this morning so much so that our recycling bin that I had put out for pickup was blown into the middle of the street. Luckily, I saw it before it became a problem and before I had headed south Towards Santa Barbara. Luckily, for me at least the wind didn't last that far Inland on 101 as I headed south to Santa Barbara along the quickest coastal route there through Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria, Buellton and finally UCSB and Santa Barbara. The coast was very clear and the ocean very bright with mostly no clouds in the sky along where Pismo Beach is when you first meet the ocean on 101 heading south there since San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay. Then inland the temperatures got up to about 82 at their highest I believe but it was mostly around mid 60s whenever you were near the ocean today but it was very beautiful and sunny the whole way south.

Because of Covid-19 and a lot of people being scared these days about everything I would say there are about 1/2 as many people on the road as a normal week day which made driving south mostly pleasant even though they are working on 101 many places and so it went down to 1 lane in each direction quite often too where everyone had to slow down as slow as the biggest slowest Semi Truck along the way also.

But, all in all I enjoyed it a lot. But, I took out my rubber gloves to put gas in my truck but I didn't get physically near enough to anyone while traveling to need to wear a mask all the way south. I ONLY stopped for gas and that's all during the over 4 or 5 hour journey south to Santa Barbara. But, all in all it was a good day because I have been stuck in my house since everything shut down except for walking along the beach with my dog and wife or walking into the forests around where I live since about March 19th or so. So, I was really grateful to have a different experience at least driving south today to Santa Barbara on a beautiful day with out much traffic.
