Staying Centered in Crazy Times

Having a pattern to your days and lives helps to keep you centered like normal times for getting up and eating and speaking with other people and rituals like playing with your dog and writing if you blog like I do. Otherwise, it all can become sort of a blur with no reference points like the movie "Groundhog Day" where the same day is lived over and over and over again (the movie with Bill Murray).

So, having some way to define your reality that makes sense to you so you can continue through all of this is important. Because this reality is the new normal at least for now for many or even maybe for all of us ongoing. Learning to adapt to the changes while making some sense of our lives is important.

If your job is gone you might have to work at something you never did before. For example, I know of one person who was working at a teacher but now is working as a checker in a Supermarket and some people are working at delivering food to people to their door because those people are afraid to leave their homes now because they are over 50 years of age or something.

But, staying centered also can be helpful if you have a spiritual or meditative practice or yoga that you do every day too. So, having patterns that you can expect in your lives every day helps keep you centered in your life and moving forward instead of sideways.

Going sideways is where you don't want to be. So, try to be more aware of how you are doing on a daily basis so you can do your course corrections before your mental balance gets too weird through all of this.

We are all living in a new normal and we all have to find the balance we need to stay alive through all of this. So, when you go out in your car just remember all the people driving their cars are also struggling to cope with all of this too. So, don't expect them to be as good of drivers as they used to be.

This is important while staying alive too. Many people on the road aren't doing very well so become a very defensive driver even if you weren't before so you both can stay alive on the road.

So, finding one's center is different now than before for most people. We all are having to adapt together into a new form of reality.

So, there is a togetherness in this new "Equalizer" kind of world we all are moving into now.
