They would want to hide the facts from most of the nation simply because they might feel they cannot win the election in November without lying to the American people. Because the facts will scare people and many won't return to work nationwide if they actually have all the facts right there with them.
Because Only a very very few States like California and a few others have so few cases per 100,000 people that it is actually relatively safe to open up. This isn't true for most states in the U.S. though and many will die without enough information.
But, the other side of this is I predict that for every 1 coronavirus death worldwide that there are going to be 10 deaths to starvation worldwide. Even though this is less true in the U.S. than in 3rd world countries it might be important for Americans to be working to help supply the world with food so many less die overseas even if many are going to die here in the U.S. of coronavirus by working when it isn't really safe to work most places in the U.S. right now.
So, some lives will be sacrificed by Trump in order to restart the economy before it's too late to restart the economy.
In other words we are in a position where (We will be damned if we do and damned if we don't).
What I'm saying here is no matter what any people do many are still going to die this year and the next from both coronavirus and starvation worldwide. And since the rate is likely going to be 10 starving for every one that dies of coronavirus worldwide who's to say what is the right thing to do?
THERE IS NO RIGHT THING TO DO RIGHT NOW! THERE IS ONLY SURVIVAL WORLDWIDE!
And this is what is really scaring everyone worldwide. Civilization itself is at stake worldwide!
Every civilization on earth right now is fighting for it's life or soon will be.
