The problem we are having is mostly to do with the complete incompetence of the Trump administration, otherwise if Obama, or Bush or Clinton or anyone else were in charge we likely would have only lost between 20,000 to 40,000 people so far. We presently have lost 136,940 and this is only the tested deaths. The real number of deaths is approximately 3 times that number which is closer to 410,820 people so far. So, it is actually so much worse than anyone is even saying regarding the U.S.
But, like I said the majority of people dying of coronavirus now are Trump voters (who don't believe in Science or like Republican conspiracy theories instead) and all Black People, Native Americans (especially living on tribal reservations) and Hispanics nationwide.
So, when you look at the death tolls here in the U.S., blacks are dying at 5 times the numbers of whites and native Americans and Hispanics are dying at 4 times the numbers of whites.
Any way you look at it those of us who have worn masks and don't go inside any businesses at all unless we are forced to for some reason are pretty horrified at the death rate in our nation and all the people being maimed for life in various ways through the coronavirus affecting them or their families. The largest public school System in the state in Los Angeles will NOT open in the fall and neither will San Diego public school system.
Also, California is the highest populated state in the country and the 5th largest economy on earth all by itself. We have almost 40 million people living here in California and most live from about Santa Barbara South towards the Mexican border.
I live in Coastal northern California and my county and about 29 counties in California just shut down again.
