I suppose it is possible that cases could increase 21% per week ongoing to December and January the way things are presently going here in the U.S.
The U.S. because of having Trump as president is experiencing the "Perfect storm of deaths and maimings for life by coronavirus". None of the people needed to die that have so far and likely wouldn't if we had a more empathetic president who was actually aware of the suffering of the American people.
If you look at the minimal deaths of Taiwan and S. Korea we could have been like this too with a different more caring president of his citizens.
