My older daughter gave me an Anker recharger for my smartphone a couple of years ago now. I find it much easier to ALWAYS have a charge on my phone this way. I plug in my rechargable charging unit into AC (or DC) in my car if I wish but usually AC and this way no matter whether my smartphone is at full or not all I have to do is to plug it in and go anywhere while it is charging in my car (even when the car is off). This way my smartphone is always charged or charging with the Anker recharger wherever I am on earth. Sometimes I will put the anker in one pocket and the smarphone in the other pocket so it can charge while I'm hiking and walking the dog along the beach. This way I can receive calls or make them as needed and don't have to worry about recharging my phone because I can do it anytime anywhere I go.
But, in order for this to work you have to recharge your charger whenever it's 4 blue LED aren't on when you push the button. I usually start recharging the charger when it gets down to 1 blue light and then the moment it starts to start blinking with the 4th light I unplug it. This way it maintains both the charger and the smartphone to their optimum.
Both the charger and the smartphone's re-chargable batteries will do their best between a 20% charge and an 80% to 90% charge. Neither one does it's best at under 20% or over 90% charge.
This way you can optimize your batteries and chargers on both devices. But, you do need a compatible cord to go from your Anker to your phone. I use a USB connection to my smartphone recharging site on my phone. Learning how to charge your Anker is a little more tricky but just read the instructions and you should be okay. The USB plugs into the Anker. I have an earlier variation of the $49.99 one
