Fires this time of year are much more hazardous than ones during the summer here in California. Why?

Because not only can things burn down when there is no rain combined with Santana Winds of 50 to 100 mph this time of year but the other problem becomes that when the rains come in heavy there is Zero vegetation to stop mud and rocks from devastating roads and cars and people's homes and businesses.

So, not only can you burn up in the winter like this but you can wake up dead in a place like Montecito near Santa Barbara where 25 people died and even Jeff Bridges and his wife had to be rescued by Helicopter.
