What I mean by this is some things are "set in stone" and others aren't in all our futures. So, it is very important to be obedient to God regarding the things set in stone. However, if you work for God like I do, then often you are also told things that you are allowed to change.
However, this is really tricky on many different levels because even when your motives are good odd things can happen.
For example, I saved the life of my ex-wife and daughter in 1985. But, sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing because neither of them will speak to me since our divorce in 1994. So, because of this I wonder often whether I actually should have saved their lives from the car accident I saw coming by praying for them when I saw it coming. The end result is they didn't die like they would have otherwise, and my ex got fractured ribs and had trouble breathing for a month or so but chose not to go to the hospital for treatment. My step daughter almost went through the front window of the car but stopped on her hand but her ring injured her forehead while she was trying and succeeding not going through the front window of the car in the head on crash.
So, did I do the right thing saving the lives of my wife and step daughter that day?
It's hard to say but I tend to save people's lives all the time so likely if that opportunity came again I likely would save their lives again because I believe that's the right thing to do.
God knows my motivation and likely he was okay with this too.
