True Statement from one World War II Veteran I personally knew as a child:

"I could kill every one of you without batting an eye." "I'm one of only 4 men in my company that survived up through Italy into France and Germany with General Patton."

So, this was how many men were who were maybe the only one who survived in their company actually were after World War II. A company as I understood it then in World War II was around 100 men in the Army. I also had a father in law who took his U.S. Naval Destroyer out under fire at Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 who was given the sword of his company to keep in honor as the last Naval Officer to  from UCLA to survive  World War II in his Naval company of men he trained with. It hung on the wall in his house in honor of all those officers he served with who died in World war II.
