It's raining here with winds increasing slowly: At present they are 12 mph steady but up to 70 mph winds expected at higher altitudes

A friend of mine in Mt. Shasta says he expects several feet of snow because they expect 8 straight days of snow to fall there. Here on the coast near San Francisco the days we have to worry about the most are Tonight, Tomorrow and Wednesday. So, if some people in some areas don't evacuate here in California it is possible they won't survive the next few days because of flooding and Mud and rock slides and other variables like Trees coming down from high winds in combination with flooding. Luckily I'm on a hill so flooding isn't problem. The main problem since I live in a forest near the beach is trees falling in the wind destroying homes and blocking roads. This is the biggest problem this time of year in storms. So, January to March or April is the most common time of year that we get storms this big that destroy or seriously damage many homes in the area I live in.

I just looked it up and Mt. Shasta Ski Park is open!
