The Good news is that they expected this so they had already closed a 30 mile long section near Big Sur so no one died because the road was closed before this happened. I saw a picture on TV which looked a lot like about half the road and gone into the ocean. The problem is that all the base under 1/2 or more of the road has gone into the ocean too. So, it likely will be 3 to 6 months for heavy equipment to drop enough dirt and rocks to build that area up from the ocean to the road if that is possible. They also might have to move the road further to the east also. That might be another alternative if there is enough base there that won't slough off under the road if they do this. The washed out highway one section is near Mud Creek they said.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
