Transformers exploding in the distance

We took our dog outside into the back yard so she could make it through the night and as we did we had to hold the door because of the wind so the window in the door didn't break from the wind. Then as we went outside a transformer exploded in the distance as we heard a large tree fall and short that power line out. Our power to our house flickered and came back on and as I'm writing this it flickered again. I'm glad we aren't somewhere it's going to flood tonight or a place where mud slides could occur during the next couple of days here on the nothern California coast near San Francisco. Outside the winds are howling right now. I'm glad I'm inside the house and still cozy and warm.

To the South in Big Sur they expect 16 inches of rain in the next two days so they have closed Highway One so don't expect to be able to drive through all the way to Morro Bay tonight or tomorrow. And this section of highway 1 could be closed from Monterey all the way to Morro Bay or thereabouts soon for a long time the way this storm presently feels.

It's as if all the piddly storms have finally resulted in a pretty scary storm and tonight and tomorrow if people didn't evacuate that needed to up and down the coast might not survive the night in various places.

But, we are lucky because it doesn't flood or mud slide here.

By God's Grace
