Criminals (especially young ones) might be a completely different problem than you are aware of

Most middle Class or rich people might have never met a real criminal and not really understand the psychology of a criminal. I'm writing this to help people who have had no experience at all with the psychology of a real criminal. I counseled Juvenile offenders in the early 1990s in San Jose California who were members of gangs which were associated with 13 or 14 which are competing gang groups all over California. In the 1980s these two groups would be called the "Crips" and the "Bloods" but things change over the years obviously.

I was going through a really awful divorce at the time which was the reason I took this job to begin with so I was somewhat in a self destructive personal phase in life and didn't know how to move forward in my own life then.

Eventually, in 1994 I met my present wife who basically literally saved my life. At this point I was considering buying a Glock 9mm automatic pistol to protect myself from gang members or their gangs that I was counseling at the time. I had planned to sew a zipper into my drivers seat with a gun easily available for me for example. (even though most people put their guns under their front seats or in their glove compartments. By the way if you buy a Glock or other automatic pistol never keep one in the barrel because it might go off and kill you or someone in your car or truck. But, this also means you have to cock it to use it the first time too. But, I think that is better than having it go off when you go over a bump or something in your vehicle.

The good thing was my wife to be talked me out of having a weapon at all in my vehicle. She basically said to me: "Why not just stop doing that kind of work and heal up psychologically from all that?" She was right of course and so that is what I did and we were married in December 1995 in Yosemite National Park at the Chapel there and had our Wedding Reception at the Ahwahnee where President Kennedy and Queen Elizabeth II both have stayed in the past and then had a honeymoon in Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii and Kauai that December of 1995.

So, my new wife healed me a lot and moved me towards staying alive because I was saving these young men from a life of crime because I was also saving myself by helping them stay alive and out of jail or a life of crime I was also saving myself and my own life as well.

It's always like this where you are helping others to help save yourself as well.

But, back to what I was writing about here:

The most important thing you can take from all of this is that young criminals have PTSD which is why they have become criminals in the first place. It's all about being victims and returning more to an animal state because of abuse in childhood more than anything else usually.

It's true there are also rich criminals but white collar criminals are a completely different breed than blue collar criminals which are the majority of criminals around the world.

Because White collar criminals are almost impossible to easily spot that's why I'm concentrating on blue collar criminals here and young ones between the ages of 12 and 17 who were the ones with 7 non-gun related felonies that I was counseling in the 1990s.

In other words they had 7 felonies using usually knives or clubs that they were convicted of. IF you use a gun and get convicted in a felony in California usually you become a life long criminal or die because then you get put in the CYA lockup and your life is basically over because of the mistreatment you will receive from other prisoners where you either join their philosophy of lifer criminals or you die there at their hands and you definitely will be raped many times by bigger and stronger boys and men than you are if you are young.

So, this changes boys a lot and makes them crazy (at least temporarily) in many ways like the PTSD that soldiers often face on battlefields around the world from every country.

So, once you go to the California Youth Authority mostly your life as you know it is over (at least temporarily).

So, the point is that most people don't understand the criminal mind and I can speak about the criminal mind of boys 12 through 17 because this is who I counseled. I took my then wife to be to see  Pulp Fiction and I said to my wife to be then: "This is exactly how the boys I counseled were except they were younger than these guys."

But, what you need to know is that young criminals and older criminals want your respect. If you don't learn anything else you need to appear at least to respect them otherwise they might kill you like you were a fly or something.

IF you don't give a real criminal respect (whether you think they deserve it or not) then they might kill you and think nothing of it. This is what people need to understand about PTSD Blue Collar Criminals. It is an entirely different psychology than you might expect them to have.

So, if you want to live don't disrespect people that mug you or accost you. You either have to fight or run but if you do not you have to demonstrate respect and politeness towards them or you have no chance at all of staying alive through whatever is going on.

This is what I want people who don't understand the criminal mind at all to understand about someone who is a criminal.

Often they are very insecure about having to be criminals and are ashamed about this. So, if you point this out to them often they want to shut you up and so will just shoot you or stick a knife in you to shut you up.

So, verbally confronting a criminal is often suicide for honest people. You can physically confront them or even wound or kill them and they might respect you or even welcome that in some ways but NEVER talk down to them unless you REALLY want to die right there right then.

I ONLY survived as a counselor because I was in my 40s and so became like an Uncle or Step father to these boys that they could somewhat trust and to their thinking sometimes manipulate for certain rights or goodies. So, in this sense I became a positive influence towards moving them toward one day being honest adults.

But, I only had a 25% chance of doing this at any point and mostly only with the 12 to 15 year olds who hadn't become total hardened criminals for life yet at that point.

But, a 25% chance of saving someone's life from a life of crime is better than no chance at all.

And then the people that save these boys if they are ever saved is often their wives or lovers or mothers in the end if anyone can save them at all. Or when they have children often many of them settle down to take care of their wives and kids.

This is what you need to know if you are confronted by real Blue Collar Criminals as long as they are relatively sane. If they are insane anything I have said here might not be useful. Because a life of crime and usually being on drugs makes many of these boys or men completely insane especially if they are doing PCP or Meth.

Here's something I wrote before about this:
