China is run by a Dictator so it's all top down. Nothing comes from the bottom up so there are no human rights at all (even to stay alive) in places like China.
So, of course China is going to criticize places like the U.S. (especially after Trump almost nuked them). But, Trump is as much of a despot as Xi is. So, Trump is not representative of Democracy. If anything, Trump is an example of autocracy which Xi is also an example of which is the opposite of Democracy to begin with.
So, the three biggest dangers to Democracy on earth I would say right now are Trump, Xi, and Putin. All three are dictators who subvert democracy each in their own ways. This subversion of democracy can only in the end cause Total Physical Annihilation of life on earth if you think about this logically.
Because without democracy people will naturally revolt and that would be at that level the end of earth permanently.
So, Trump, Putin and Xi are harbingers of human extinction as well as the extinction of all life on earth eventually if they all have their way.
So, real democracy becomes: "Preventing Trump, Putin and Xi from ending life on earth by keeping enough Democracy alive so earth doesn't self destruct and become another asteroid belt."
