Facing Covid head on for years now and into the future could prevent human extinction. Why?

It's sort of like World War II when Americans wanted to be pacifists and not get involved like during World War II. 

Only this time the whole world is being attacked by Covid all at once. This will force nations to join together likely through the United Nations in some way to face the real problems we need to face to survive as a human race here on earth. 

This is my hope. It could go another direction and just end human life on earth if we all fight each other instead like rats in the same trap killing each other because they are trapped and then blaming each other for their problems in a way that kills them all.

So, hopefully, logic and reason and compassion will save us (or at least save some of us) in the end.
