When I was having the most trouble staying alive in a body here on earth I was about 21 to 25 years of age. I realized quickly after contemplating ending my life that I couldn't do this to my parents relatives or friends. So, even though I really wanted my life to be over I decided to "Soldier ON" literally for the sake of others. At this point (and most points after that) I'm glad I made this choice. Because when I met my first wife at age 25 and had a son by 26 I realized that I had to stay alive to raise my son right. And I did.
So, often staying alive is having enough compassion for the people who sacrificed everything so you could be born and be raised (hopefully in a good way).
So, Having compassion for not only yourself but those around you will keep you alive through everything you face now.
I have to compare these Covid times mostly to World war II and World War I and the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak that killed over 600,000 Americans and 50 million people around the world.
We have no real Idea whether Covid will ever end or not or whether it will remain sort of like the common cold and flu taking people out ongoing around the world.
But, just like in 1969 to 1973 for me one must "Soldier ON" for not only one's own future but for the future of others so we don't start a cascade of suicides or accidental deaths along the way.
Compassion isn't just about you it is also about everyone you know that has helped you grow up and become who you are along the way.
It takes a village to raise each one of us and we all owe something back for all those who "Raised us" whether they be parents or relatives or even teachers in public and private schools. They all sacrificed their time and energy to help make us what we all are.
So, it's important to have enough compassion not only for yourselves but also for all the others who got you here in the first place.
By God's Grace
