This pandemic isn't over yet and so worrying about the next one is problematic too!

No one knows for sure if or even when this pandemic will ever end?

There might be some fading out regarding Omicron though because the effects of Omicron so far appear to be milder and less likely to take people into the hospital as much as Delta Variants. But, this isn't a sure thing yet. But, if it is true that the symptoms are milder even though it is 10 to 100 times more contagious than the Delta Variants it is possible that soon, (just like in Europe now) the Omicron will also become dominant here in the U.S. and Canada too within the next month or so.

So, staying vigilant regarding this one likely will prepare us for the next pandemics to hit us whether they be through variants of Covid or something new entirely.

It's important to understand that all Colds and Flus are also Sars Viruses too. So, Covid is related to begin with to colds and flus that have been mutating for thousands of years already in Europe and other places.
