Why is this true?
When you write you are one person and when you read later what you have written either the same day or days or weeks or years later it gives you insights into the problems you are writing about at that time. So, in some ways it is like being a part of a discussion with yourself at two different times in your life. In this way you begin to solve the problems in your life and in the lives of others.
This also can help others as they see you think about whatever problems you are addressing in your life or others.
So, this is one of the ways healing can begin for you and for others during your lives ongoing.
