Being paranoid can get you killed.
It's not that you want to be ignorant while you are walking or driving through a bad part of any town on earth. It's that you need to find a way to be realistic about things.
So, if you are safe somewhere then "What are you worried about?"
If you know you are safe why are you worried?
I realized that my family had been people who settled this country from Philadelphia where they landed in a ship from England up the river there in 1725. 6 brothers came through England on their way from Switzerland near Zurich then and they settled in that area and then my Great grandfather was a captain in Kansas in the Civil War in the Northern Army. He survived all that and then bought medicines from the local tribe of Native Americans and started the first Drug store in his area in the 1870s after the war and ran it until he sold it in 1925 there in Kansas. He lived until World War II began even though he was born in the 1840s.
So, learning compassion for yourself and others will keep you calm and alive learning how to do this. Going to college and finding a career is helpful too. We have a great country for education because you can literally get a college degree at any age here. This isn't true in Europe for Example (at least in the Public School Systems)
So, we are all very lucky to live here in the U.S. where we can Always go back to college at any age during our lives to re-educate ourselves.
By God's Grace
