Why?
Because Global Climate changes are sort of like a lobster (symbolic of the human race) being thrown into a pot of cold water. but, as the pot heats on the burner of Global Climate changes there is not enough of an extreme change in any one moment for humans to react in a useful way to save themselves.
So, just like the lobster put into cold water and cooked he doesn't save himself and gets cooked and eaten.
It's why they never put a lobster in hot water because he will jump out of the pot.
Humans likely won't jump out of the pot either until most of them are dead too.
This is the real reality we all face this century.
