First there is physical survival- IF you don't prioritize this one then you don't survive.
Then there is psychological survival- People don't prioritize this as much as they should I have observed.
When you ONLY prioritize physical survival often you die psychologically from what you have done to survive in the first place.
So, though physical survival is important, psychological survival is equally important.
This is one reason why I chose not to join the military during the Viet Nam War and also I wasn't drafted anyway because of concussion caused seizures between ages 10 and 15 caused by a fall rock climbing at around 9 years old at Chilao park above Los Angeles in Angeles National Forest.
I survived my early 20s mostly because I did two things:
First I went back to college and studied Philosphy, Anthropology and Social Science. This combination actually saved my life because neither of my parents had been to college and didn't know anything really about psychology. Learning about psychology allowed me to find a way to stay alive in my life and survive everything that had happened to me already while growing up.
Diet is very important because "You Are what you Eat". So, if you don't eat organic and mostly unprocessed foods you don't tend to live very long.
So, diet is helpful in a variety of ways in human survival.
Next, surviving by getting away from dangerous people is a good thing.
Some people (even myself) are entertained by being around dangerous people. When you are young you often don't distinguish people like this from others. But, by the time you are through with college it's important to walk away from really dangerous people or you won't survive either.
So, prioritizing physical survival first and psychological survival 2nd is how we actually live to experience old age and to spend time with our mates and children and grandchildren.
