So, as you can see unless you take it directly from Aramaic to English you don't get the actual meaning of "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is "My Gods, My Gods, How you have glorified me!"

It makes me wonder just how many other things are wrong (at least in the King James Bible?) 

 

Even in my own lifetime of growing up in the 1950s and 1960s people who didn't live then actually would not believe what people actually thought then. And the uses of many if not most words since the 1950s or 1960s are not exactly the same as then or often the meanings are completely different.

 

So, if this can happen just within 50 or 60 years imagine what can happen in 2000 years or 2500 years going back to Jesus and the Buddha?
