I'm not really interested at all in riding in a robo-vehicle without emergency steering wheel and emergency brakes. Why?

Mostly because I don't want to die from a robotic car when I don't have to.

However, other people can make different choices and either survive their experiences or not depending upon whether lightning strikes their vehicle that day or a dust particle gets into a chip driving the thing or any other number of things.

I tend to view all AI about like a robotaxi in that I sort of expect it to be running over people or the car thinking that people are sign posts or curbs or something else.

As you can see I don't have a high opinion of Robotaxi technology.

Will it work and keep you alive?

Maybe.

Maybe it might be better than a 16 year old new driver or not.

It's hard to say because some 16 year old drivers are really good and some are not.

It all depends upon how focused and experienced they are.

I think generally speaking I could trust more 16 year old new drivers than I would ever trust a robocar with no steering wheel or brake pedal for emergencies.

But, that's just me.

If it had a brake pedal and steering wheel for emergencies and these were directly in front of me to use I might consider riding in something like this but ONLY then.

So, then I could think of it as a 5 year old child sitting on my lap that I was teaching to steer the car because that is how much faith I actually have in  all robotaxis of any kind on earth at this point.
