Because the characters are more like Cartoon Characters. The most believable character is likely Willa, Bob's daughter he raises after Perfidia escapes the U.S. and goes first to Mexico.
But, the "larger than life" way that this movie is conducted doesn't completely resemble real life and becomes a "Caricature" of life sort of the way Pulp Fiction(1994) was too.
However, One Battle After Another(2025) is serious business too on many levels because it reminds me a lot of 1960s Leftist Radicals. Now we are dealing more with Rightist Radicals who are destroying our democracy. So, Trump's "Mein Kampf" attempts at overthrowing our democracy is really scary in some of the same ways things went in this movie.
