Because of all this and because I was a surfer and a beachgoer always after age 4 when we first moved to San Diego because I mostly lived in Southern California too until around 1976 when I was 28 years old, everyone wears beach walkers in Southern California if they are a beach person. Why? Because cleaning your feet of beach sand is a really big deal all the time so wearing flip flops it is a lot easier to deal with this. You wash your feet at an outdoor shower at many beach parks and you put on your flip flops and you are on your way. Most of the year it's warm enough for flip flops in Southern California but it isn't really that way in northern California where I live now. So, I wear crocs for a little more warmth when I walk on a beach here in Northern California because I started out as a Southern California Surfer in the 1960s. I was 12 in 1960 and 21 in 1969 and I lived in Glendale from 1958 to 1969 also when I moved to Venice but then I moved to San Diego to go back to college pretty soon because Venice was too crazy a place for me at age 21.
Also, DON'T ever wear beach walkers when driving a car or truck EVER!
Why! IT's how people die a lot in Southern California and likely Florida too because the flip flop straps get caught in the gas or brake pedal and then people have accidents or die!
That's why it's legal to drive barefoot in California!
