The last I heard Western Maui (where Lahaina and Ka'anapali are) is going to open up to tourists on October 8th

If you are going there I would check for sure nothing has changed. We had planned to go to Maui and stay there but had to cancel our plans because of the Lahaina fire by the way. But, it's possible that western Maui where the fire was is opening up October the 8th according to a statement made by the Governor of  the state of Hawaii.
