Winds sustained here from 24 up to 40 mph and higher at higher elevations

Gusts can be up to 60 to 80 here on the northern Coast of California near San Francisco. Power has gone out a couple of times already, and many many few second blackouts and brownouts as well. Power hasn't stayed off more than a few minutes at a time so far.  Outdoor chairs and branches and leaves blowing around my backyard and rear deck. Fire engine sirens a lot tonight nearby which could mean a lot of different things. No trees down near us so far but one large tree came across a road within a block or two of us as we were going out to pickup my truck being worked on today but luckily it was in the opposite direction we had to travel but it totally had cut off traffic on that paved road from side to side. Branches everywhere and moss from trees and lychen everywhere and leaves and pine needles everywhere so you have to be very careful driving because it is wet and slick already. Power just tried to go out for the umpteenth time.

Very glad not to be stuck in white out blizzard on I-80 going over the Sierras right now. Reminds me of almost not surviving a white out in 1970 on Mt. Shasta. Glad to be somewhere warm  and cozy tonight and not driving somewhere in Northern or Central California)
