Enlightenment. I was going over many yellow legal sheets from an old notepad from 15 years ago now. My wife asked me to compile some of the poems I wrote for her and myself when we first got together. I read the following one to her though it is not a poem she and I felt it was quite good in meaning. Here is is:
"Unexpected situations create unexpected actions and reactions from whoever or whatever is affected."
"Sanity in a society equates to order and stability but in a crisis 'societal sanity' may interfere with one's survival or family or even friends' survival. At what point must one break with tradition in order to individually and collectively survive?"
I also would like to share a part of a paper I wrote in college. It was an Anthropology college course. I was amazed by the similarity of Baboon society to humans of the last 10,000 years.
Basically I wrote a report on a study outlined in a book called Almost Human by Shirley C. Strum.
Begin quote: Dr. Shirley C. Strum left for Africa from UC Berkeley in 1972 to do graduate work in Kenya with Baboons. Her quest in her own words from p. 7 was, "---Robert Ardley--- told the lay public that modern humans were not far removed from our primeval days. A killer ape still lurked inside of each of us. Men and women were naturally different in abilities. Even if we wanted a society with greater sexual equality we might not be able to overcome millions of years of biology.
"What if he was right?" Worse still what if he was wrong and I believed him?---Like early humans, baboons have met the challenge of the savanna life like few other primates have. Watching baboons might help us understand the problems early humans may have faced through the solutions they have found."
When Dr. Strum was still an undergraduate, she was sold on Anthropology as a major. She saw that a holistic approach was the right approach because it looks at human problems and evolution from a variety of approaches simultaneously. She really liked this cross-cultural perspective. She saw no other systemic approach doing this as well as Anthropology. Dr. Strum first took a course in Cultural Anthropology and one course led to another. She says,"I felt linked not only to a few thousands years of art and culture but to millions of generations, to something bigger than I had ever imagined existed." un-nsa-tc-00542
During her research in Kenya she was surprised by many of her findings. Many of her logical preconceptions of baboon behavior were blown away by the facts. For example, her research led her to study Ray, an outsider male trying to move in and become part of the troop. Many of Ray's approaches were indirect. For many months he did not directly challenge the top male leadership for supremacy. Rather he kept his distance and slowly moved closer and closer over two months and eventually copulated with Naomi, a low status female. However, Dr. Strum could not figure out why the males of the troop did not put a stop to this behavior. Next Ray sought out one of the main matriarchal females but a big male named Sumner got jealous. Ray and Sumner fought but then neither claimed Peggy, the Matriarch as his sexual prize. Another lesser male claimed her instead. This confused Dr. Strum as it made no sense to her. I think that this has more to do with her not understanding males because it makes perfect sense to me. If I had been in a life or death struggle,even over a female, I certainly wouldn't be in the mood for anything but letting my adrenalin settle down to normal afterwards.
It seemed to Dr. Strum that baboons could adapt their behavior to many different kinds of environments whereas chimpanzees were close to extinction. What good did the chimpanzees' near humanness get them if they were going extinct?
If the numbers of primates are considered in total, baboons including subspecies are second only to man in primate population whereas all the great apes may be on their way to extinction.
Historic human societies also hearken back to societies where females only acquire status in relation to their association with a dominant male which Dr. Strum considered to be an almost direct parallel to early human tribal societies.And these human historic societies in this way directly parallel present day Baboon societies.
The males of the baboon species are like fighting machines and so male baboons compete for such things as females, food and status within a troop. Once males fought and achieved their rank lower ranking males tended to give way without protest. Those of higher rank got their rewards consistently without further protest. The system is much like human societies. It is maintained through threat and bluff. The threat and bluff system gives strength to the social fabric of baboons.
In contrast, females lives revolve around babies: having them, feeding them and raising them to be useful members of the troop. Female eyes were always turned toward the males. All females compete for the right to groom the dominant males as the dominant males protect them from outside predators and inter-troop quarrels. The dominant males were both guardians and protectors to all within the group.
Females are predictable. Their first loyalty is to their family. The mother is on top of the matriarchy followed by the children in reverse order of age. The female dominance hierarchy is strictly matriarchal. The matriarchal hierarchy is a contrast to the male dominance hierarchy. The male dominance hierarchy can shift from day to day or from hour to hour whereas the matriarchal hierarchy is linear and fairly rigid and only changes slightly when someone dies or is born. The sphere of influence of the males was found to be much more powerful but also much more narrow than Dr. Strum expected, whereas a dominant female's influence was fairly consistent on-going and on-growing. The dominant females, the matriarchs, ward off bullies within the troop and also protect the group from the dangers outside the troop. The matriarchs wield a great deal of influence both directly and indirectly.
A primate hand is a remarkable invention. It is one of several primary reasons that humans now do so well. As brain areas related to vision and manipulation increased in size, the human brain also increased in size.
From the back piece of the book George B. Schaller says this of Dr. Strum's work, "From her extended study (Dr. Shirley C. Strum) gained not just knowledge but understanding. She ceased being a scientific technician focused on a narrow aspect of baboon behavior and became a humanist who considered the philosophy, ethics, and science of her involvement with the animals--aspects that give this book unusual depth.... Books such as hers create an awareness that animals too have unique and complex societies as worthy of study and preservation as our own."
Although Chimpanzees are thought to be the closest link to man; baboon society is biologically much closer to humans, except for the use of tools, to our tribal beginnings. I think that the baboons will have much to teach the human race for many generations to come. Baboons may survive long after all the great apes have gone extinct in the wild because of their greater adaptability in the wild than any primate except man. Written today: When I read this book, I was amazed by the similarity between modern and historic human society and the baboons. I think that more has not been made of this precisely because the similarities to human society are so striking.
There is one story that didn't make it into my report that was the most astonishing thing I learned in reading this book.
When the baboon troop,which lives mostly in one or two trees on the Savanah or flatlands, exhaust the food supply in that location they would have to move. The journey across open land to a new copse of trees is extremely dangerous. The trees provide some safety from lions and other big cats, though 5 or more alpha male baboons could drive off a single lion because of their fierceness and very sharp long teeth.
Anyway, as the group of 50 to 100 mostly related Baboons traveled through the flatlands and grasses to the next oasis or safe spot with trees, some of the older teenage males would likely be killed because they were at the outside of the circle and would get picked off during an attack, very much like corporals and privates in an army on the move. What amazed Dr. Strum was why older teenage males would put themselves in such a dangerous position for the good of the troop.
Eventually, after watching the troop over a long time, she was able to understand. If these older teenage males survived this dance with death they then had a chance at becoming one of the inner circle of alpha males or even the Alpha male himself at some point, since the whole troop witnessed their bravery at taking such a risk. They also positioned themselves to being able to mate with some of the alpha females if they survived.
This completely amazed me because it so directly resembles human tribal society for thousands of years as well as how even nations and armies reward those soldiers who are brave and move up the ranks. I felt grateful for the holistic study that Dr. Strum made while researching in the field for such an extensive period.

We know that fluctuations in birth and death rates have occurred, however, partly because the baboon groups have all shifted their home ranges at some point in the past decades. Such shifts usually result in an increase in both food and predation. Our current work involves investigating the effects of such fluctuations on the population growth rate. Analyses so far suggest that these fluctuations are very dramatic, so that while the pooled population growth rate has been 4% per year, growth rates over smaller periods of time, looking at single groups, may be as high as 8% per year and as low as -4% per year - from high growth to actual shrinkage. The implication of these fluctuations is that, while the baboon population may continue to grow if it remains on its current trajectory, it may also shrink and become vulnerable to extinction. Several bad years in a row, for instance, would accumulate in such a way that another crash could easily occur. We are currently in the process of trying to measure the possibilities - will the population continue to expand, or will it crash and return again to the edge of local extinction? end quote

One way you might keep your home
One way to keep your Home. Since defaulting any home loan eventually tends to lead to bankruptcy anyway, if you are close to defaulting on your subprime it might be useful if you contacted a bankruptcy lawyer and asked him for CHAPTER 13 PROTECTION(NOT CHAPTER 7!) Only by invoking Chapter 13 protection might you be able to force your interest rates down to a normal level and possibly even create a government fixed rate low interest loan to keep your home.
Many of the people who got subprime loans in the past 7 years are first time home buyers and do not realize fully that defaulting a home loan usually creates a situation where they must go into bankruptcy. If you are in the position of defaulting your loan anyway but want to keep your home by reducing your interest rates and also your payments back to where you actually might afford them.
As a point of reference the cost of hiring a bankruptcy attorney in 1994 was about 2500 dollars in coastal California. The cost of your bankruptcy is usually paid for as your pay off all your debts in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy around 10cents on the dollar.(At least this is the way it was in 1994)
If you can qualify for the breaks that a Chapter 13 bankruptcy could give you then you might be able to keep your house, keep your car and then pay off through payments the lawyer and the 10 cents on the dollar of most all of your debts. When I hear of news stories like this I find them hard to believe. I sometimes wonder if the forests were also cut down by totally desperate people not wanting to freeze to death also. However, in the end one must acknowledge that for whatever the reasons 1/10 of China's forests are gone after this one snow storm. What if they lose 1/10 of their forests every year the next 10 years from Global weather changes. What then?

Write. Save a Life
Write Save a Life. Your own or someone else's or even everyone's. It is important to express ones deepest ideas, dreams and insights. Even if you never share them with anyone else but you. I write because God commands it of me and because this is how he designed me to live on earth. However, I have noticed that the people who bottle everything up inside them and never express their true feelings are the ones who die young likely from cancer. How can one truly live without expressing their innermost feelings and desires? How can you really be said to ever have been truly alive?
So many peoples lives are lost because they are afraid to live their lives. My son is in his 30s now and he is finally knowing love in some ways for the first time. He has even been married but I wouldn't have considered that love. I did consider it two people trying to survive in an awful world.
Love is different. It is spontaneous. It is wonderful and it is always terrible if and when it ends. Nothing lasts forever but life itself-God. Everything else is temporary, whether that temporary is one moment or billions of years. Each of our lifetimes is but a blinking of the eye. If we don't choose to live and love for the moment of life we have here on earth then we are only ridiculous and pathetic.
I told my son as he was going on and on about really being in love for the first time that I had always chosen love and had taken the risk since I was 15 years old and that I really had no regrets about always choosing love and in the process learning kindness. I started out a lot like a bull in a china closet but soon I became more refined and in great demand from the late 60s until I married and had my son in 1974. Men sometimes talk to me about how they are sad about marrying the first girl they met. I always say, "I loved all the women who loved me too. I have no regrets now because I have no trouble being faithful to my present wife because we both dated enough people in our lives to be happy and faithful to each other now.
I can remember how my second wife was so jealous that I had had so many happy relationships as she had married her first boyfriend(This was her second marriage too). Even though we were married almost 15 years it was one of the many things that eventually came between us.
My present wife and I had traveled all over the world before we met and got together and married and had a daughter. There is a peace in our marriage that both of us have really lived that I have never experienced before in life.
So live your lives. Write, even if it is only for yourself to better know who you are. Don't get cancer and die unfulfilled; live, love and write!

The XO computer
The XO computer, the good and the bad. The good news is that MIT and many other universities and foundations around the world developed an amazing little computer that uses flash memory instead of hard drives so it can withstand up to 140 degrees fahrenheit without dying on you. It is possible to drop it from maybe 5 feet without killing it and it is basically impervious to dust the way it is constructed. I donated and got one via the give one get one donation project here in the United States so I paid about 400 for one donated to a child and I got one in that deal. The computer sells for about $180 plus shipping each.
I used this computer wirelessly while in my jacuzzi bath without worry of moisture. I also used it in my hot tub outside in the dark and I like the way one can Position the screen so I could see the keys (which are built for a childs hands). The keyboard size would be my biggest complaint if an adult has to use it. HOwever, because it runs linux the likelihood of dealing with viruses and the like is very slight(about the same as an Imac). However, Linux isn't windows just so you know. It works in some ways similar and in some ways differently. So unless you are familiar already with PC's and Imac gui's then it will take a little time to get used to their linus setup. However, instructions are online that you can access easily from your previous computer. Also, it runs at a little less than 1/2 gig so it is quite slow but adequate for kids running it off solar cells or hand cranks in third world countries. Also, I would recommend plugging your own mouse into it so the mouse doesn't freak out so much.
I had a lot of fun with it and took it outide a lot wirelessly and (like I said) with me in into the jacuzzi and the hot tub but remember I'm not dipping it in the water I'm just near a lot of moisture both places and felt perfectly safe doing this both times. The batteries last a long time because the computer is designed to be one of the most miserly in its use of electricity ever designed. It reminds me in some ways of an extremely big blackberry running on linux that goes a lot slower in accessing things which is still great if you are a third world kid who has never even seen a blackberry. Plus Blackberries aren't necessarily designed to be recharged solar or hand crank(at least that I know of).
One of the biggest problems that I had with it besides the tiny keyboard and the speed that it operates was that I felt a little ill if I used it say 4 hours a day for a few days. I think it might be broadcasting a little powerfully for little brains and they might get a little fried if they use it four hours a day or more for a few days. So my solution would be wherever possible to put in an ethernet connection on board the xo computer so it could be plugged into the internet via ethernet cable say in schools to lessen this over broadcasting effect that I experienced so kids don't get sick from it.

If they don’t, the race ahead could turn into a rerun of the 2000 election in Florida, except with Democrats fighting Democrats.

I'm a Dinosaur
I'm a Dinosaur and Proud of it! I have noticed that I and my peers have slowly become dinosaurs just like when I grew up people who once wore top hats and bear coats at their college games were dinosaurs when I grew up.
I used to wonder why people over 40 years old tended to be so cranky when I was young. Well, now I know. If you have to watch all your best friends and relatives die and then have to go to funerals and either watch them be buried or dropped as ashes into the ocean over the sides of ships or boats or out of planes over water then you get my point. I think doing this about 100 times might make you a little cranky too! One to five times doing this might even make some people a little nuts, especially if it's a wife, husband, parent, lover or dear friend or (God Forbid!)ones child.(A child is the worst!)
However, I'm also proud to still be alive. All the things except sex I basically stopped doing by ages 22 to 26 that might kill me or drive me insane. (Although working for someone you hate can drive most people nuts or just cause them so suicide.) So that is something I recommend that everyone not do. DON'T WORK FOR SOMEONE YOU HATE BECAUSE THAT IS HOW PEOPLE DIE!(you or them or both).
That is a really good truism. Here is a good list:
1. Don't ever work more than about a week to a month for someone you really hate!
2. Don't do things you can't survive!
3. Don't do anything you can't live with the rest of your life.(like serious emotional or physical harm to yourself or anyone else). Just ask any veteran who has been forced to kill who is now on the streets with a cardboard sign asking for your help.

I was talking to a good friend of more than 10 years recently. He was saying that his father chose to stop taking walks when he was 90 and my friend thought that this was the reason his father died within 3 years of this.
I said, "There is another factor called transfer trauma. Your father probably didn't feel safe outside because of his slowly deteriorating mental state from aging." I said, "I'll be 60 this year, my friend, and even now I go out into public places as little as possible because I don't like all the changes in our culture. I don't like the way the average person sees me or looks at me and I don't like most of their attitudes or ideas about things either. So I'm a stranger in a strange land even though I grew up mostly in this state." Since my friend is about 10 years younger than I and just turned 50, he looked at me with a look that told me he is afraid of the future. Unlike me, he is single and a good friend to my wife. My wife and he are both extremely intelligent and he used to be a member of MENSA which is a club for geniuses.
However, I have always found extreme intelligence to usually be more of a problem than a solution to most problems and I have found the most extremely intelligent people usually can't balance this with common sense and emotional stability. However, there are always exceptions to this observation.
I tend to be fairly earthy in my life sort of the "Carry Water Chop Wood" kind of practical Zen approach to life. I tend to be a person that survives any catastrophe as I am always at my best in a crisis like all my relatives. However, everyday life bores me to tears. So being bored is usually my most difficult problem to overcome.
However, at this point in life I've got a 2500 square foot house with a big back yard and hot tub and with 4 or more computers and 3 or more tv sets (even though we shut off cable about 8 months ago so my daughter could experience life without cable tv.) This has been extremely successful to the point where we might make this permanent. Even she agrees this is better because we are all tired of 20 minutes of every hour being commercials on cable tv. At least on the internet it is only 10 to 30 seconds of commercial per 5 minutes of viewing time at its very worst.
And yes, I'm now formally a dinosaur. With the big six zero coming up I am formally a human dinosaur. What is amazing about this for me is that I feel better now then I did at 30 or 35 plus I have all the experience of life behind me not to make really stupid mistakes of the kind young people make. Do I miss being young? Actually, no. Being young sucked because even though one is young you don't usually have much money to actually enjoy being young that much. Yes, in the late 60s and early 70's there was no AIDS and I had tons of girlfriends and we could have unprotected sex because it wasn't dangerous then. However, we didn't have any money to do more than go to concerts or go surfing back then. I don't miss being young. What I miss is all the enthusiasm and all my friends. That is what I miss. But being young, I don't miss that pain at all.
I used to wonder why people over 40 years old tended to be so cranky when I was young. Well, now I know. If you have to watch all your best friends and relatives die and then have to go to funerals and either watch them be buried or dropped as ashes into the ocean over the sides of ships or boats or out of planes over water then you get my point. I think doing this about 100 times might make you a little cranky too! One to five times doing this might even make some people a little nuts, especially if it's a wife, husband, parent, lover or dear friend or (God Forbid!)ones child.(A child is the worst!)
However, I'm also proud to still be alive. All the things except sex I basically stopped doing by ages 22 to 26 that might kill me or drive me insane. (Although working for someone you hate can drive most people nuts or just cause them so suicide.) So that is something I recommend that everyone not do. DON'T WORK FOR SOMEONE YOU HATE BECAUSE THAT IS HOW PEOPLE DIE!(you or them or both).
That is a really good truism. Here is a good list:
1. Don't ever work more than about a week to a month for someone you really hate!
2. Don't do things you can't survive!
3. Don't do anything you can't live with the rest of your life.(like serious emotional or physical harm to yourself or anyone else). Just ask any veteran who has been forced to kill who is now on the streets with a cardboard sign asking for your help.

World Changes
World Changes. I was watching "The Sum of All Fears" in segments during the last 24 hours as it is a very interesting movie with Morgan Freeman and Ben Affleck.
However, I noticed how dated the concepts in it are already. It is really amazing to me how extremely fast things have been changing since the end of the Cold War in 1989. As a psyhic it is perfectly obvious to me that Global Weather changes will claim many more lives than wars in this century. It won't be known, though because these deaths likely will not even be calibrated into any statistics precisely because no one is keeping score on deaths caused by Global Weather changes. If they were I think people would take Global Weather changes much more seriously. For example, if someone could calibrate how many more people are dying by decade now than in the first half of the 20th century from weather calamities someone might notice. However, the problem with this is that there were only 2 billion people on earth then and now there are almost 7 billion alive now, so that would skew the statistics. However, there must be some way to compensate for that.
The main reason we are unlikely to have any nuclear blowups including individual cities blown up with nukes is what has happened with the 9-11 situation. 3000 people died in 9-11. However, any intelligent person knows that over 1,000,000 people have now died as a direct result mostly in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan that the world vaguely blames as being responsible for 9-11 even though the real hijackers came mostly from Saudi Arabia. However, since the world needs Saudi Oil Saudi Arabia still exists, whereas without the oil it would not exist today because of 9-11. Most intelligent people understand this.
If any nuke hit any city it is now known that all the relatives of the group that did it in whatever country that they were from would be gone. This is the main reason why no nuke will be used by a terrorist for any reason other than black mail for money or a country to run.
By now even the craziest terrorist knows this. And if they don't their intelligent relatives know this and will kill that relative before he extincts their family and nation.
Logically, if you are following me if a 1 million to 5 million population city anywhere on earth was nuked, the retribution directly upon the family and nation of that nuke would be in the neighborhood of 50 to 100 million people within 10 years of the event. This is just logical progression. And the extincting and genocide would be carried out by about 50 nations. Any terrorist knows this unless he or she is completely insane. This is why nukes will only be used for blackmail or to destroy earth and all upon it. Those are the only two logical outcomes now. I don't know whether to be hopeful or discouraged by my understanding of this.
So, if you are following my logic, except for earth ceasing to exist, our biggest threat is Global Weather Changes, which strangely enough might extinct man but would save the planet to grow new species after we would all be dead.

Clarity and Health
Clarity and Health.With Heath Ledger's passing and Britney Spears problems it brings new focus for me to write about this. First of all, if you don't have clarity of thought and emotions then you can't make good decisions about anything and this could easily compromise your survival either mentally or physically. For if you don't have clarity, you may not live to see another day. Within the last few years also one of my sons high school acquaintances who was 6 foot 5 inches tall and a very intelligent and intense bear of a guy died in his sleep on night at age 29. I can remember meeting him at age 16 and thinking to myself, "How is this guy going to survive in the world?" Because even though he was at a genius level and would be able because of his size beat up anyone who got in his way, he lacked anything close to a center and I knew when I met him it would be unlikely that this kid would make it to 30. I was sadly right. Because he couldn't deal with his intelligence he took all the drugs he could get his hands on starting at age 10 or 12. My son knew about this but there wasn't anything he could do about it and besides, this guy was more of an acquaintance and not a best friend or even one of his best friends. Later, when I heard about my sons best friend and this guy being attacked by a boot gang in Glasgow, Scotland when my sons best friend was spending his junior year getting his physics degree there I wasn't surprised. I also wasn't surprised that the 6 foot 5 inch acquaintance had put several gang members in the hospital who had attacked them or that my sons best friend had been knocked unconscious. However, when my sons acquaintance was dead at 29 I wasn't surprised either.
The first truism is:If you take synthentic drugs regurlarly likely you will shorten you life or destroy your ability to think which will shorten your life. Most synthetic drugs are the ones that drug companies can patent. They can't patent the naturally occurring ones that occur naturally in nature that your body actually knows what to do with. Naturally occurring substances made by plants and animals your body is more likely to survive. However, synthetic ones always have multiple side affects that you see on the sides of packages.
Though organic compounds often take longer to cure illnesses they tend not to kill or maim like synthetic ones do.
For example, whenever possible I try to take as few as possible,(usually none) of any synthetic medicines. One exception for me is the antibiotic zythromax to prevent bronchitus and pneumonia. At my age I have already lost a male cousin to pneumonia who died at age 60. So I realize that this is often how men my age go out when they don't take care of chest colds. So if I feel the least bit weak I go to a doctor and get zithromax. It has saved my life about 20 times since I was 50 and I'm still alive today because of it.
Also, now I found out that my thyroid gland hasn't been working right for about 20 years I find I don't have to take zithromax now because my physical strength is now again about what it was when I was 30 from taking thyroid medicine. Also, I don't take synthroid because it is a synthetic compound, I take Armour thyroid because it is natural and most like human thyroid that can be obtained. So now I feel like I'm thirty again physically which is really great. However, now when I get sick I feel mentally like I'm about 5 years old which can be a problem. Luckily, I don't have to work full time so I can manage this.
Also, whenever possible (if you can afford it) try to buy food at places like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods so you can get as much organic food as possible in your body and your family's bodies. In this way you insure as much sanity and clarity as can be eaten. Because you are what you eat. If you eat shit then you think like shit and can't make good decisions and likely your life will be short and crazy.
One of the reasons I'm wealthy is that I have chosen to eat foods that keep me sane. I don't eat at McDonalds ever for one thing. and 99% of the time I never eat any fast foods unless I'm trying to drive 8 or 10 hours straight and don't want to take the time to stop for an hour to grab a meal. So stay sane and healthy so you can have the clarity to actually survive your life. Your kids and family need you to be sane. Life is tough enough!

God Grant me the Serenity
God Grant me the serenity to know what is useful and good to change. At the present state of human evolution we are beginning to reach a place where almost any physical thing can be changed into some other physical thing. Is that Good? Well, yes and no. And there's the rub. Who among us is wise enough to make these choices? Well, not usually the ones actually making these choices. And there's the real problem right there. The people making choices about what kinds of lives are possible for all life forms presently inhabiting earth are the wrong people and the wrong beings to be making these choices.
What I mean by this is that although they might be intellectually intelligent they don't tend to be by any definition wise or even visionaries or prescient. There is an interesting custom that I studied while studying cultural anthropology. In some of the tribes of people on earth no artifice or device was allowed to be used or made until all the elders of the tribe looked at the device and tried to think of every good and bad possibility for that artifice or device that it could be used for unto the 7th generation forward. Unless the good to the tribe of any invention or device absolutely and completely outweighed any possible bad to the tribe from that device(unto the 7th generation of tribe members) the device was forbidden by the elders to be used on pain of death by any member of the tribe.
I think we are at a point in human evolution where something like this is necessary so we as a species don't just innovate and invent ourselves into extinction.

Important Dreams
Important Dreams. It is very important for those who wish to eventually become enlightened,(even though it is said that everyone is already enlightened they just have to realize it) to see clearly when a very important dream arises either waking or sleeping. This type of dream could be said to be "much more real" than the lives they are living on earth. This type of dream could be said to be a dream of the kind that people talk about when they say, "Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind"
Some dreams are far more important than our lives in the physical world we live in. The trick is to realize which ones those are. For some of us this is easy. For others it seems less so.
I had such a dream the other night when a Rinpoche friend of mine for multiple lifetimes came to me in a dream and said, "The passing of time is a problem" and my answer to him of 1000 years has always been "Time is a River" and then we laughed at the joke life plays on us of living so many lives down through time and in my dream right then I knew I was going to be all right. I was going to heal and be okay once again from being sick with the boomerang cold for 3 weeks now. Even though I was asleep I knew everything was going to be okay once again. When I woke up I had full clarity and even though I still felt mentally like a five year old from being sick so long I knew with every cell of my body that everything was going to be okay!

New Agers
New Agers.People have called me a New Ager. However, I just call myself open minded. Or more accurately,"I am open to the possibility that almost anything is possible." However, this does not mean that I'm naive. In fact I tend to be cynical in the extreme if I meet a Pollyanna, male or female. (A Pollyanna is positive and looks on the bright side no matter what).
My normal response always comes from "Prepare for the worst but hope for the best".(This is how all the survivors thought who settled the western United States 200 years ago and didn't die). I think this comes from almost dying multiple times from age 2 to age 15, first from Whooping cough where I would cough until I turned blue and faint over and over again to having childhood epilepsy from ages 10 to 15 where every 6 months I would be having a nightmare in my dreams while asleep and it would become real and I would almost die and then wake up shaking with blood coming out of my nose or mouth. I would often shake in terror after I came out of it for an hour or two, usually at 2am to 4 am in the morning.
So after all that bullshit when people tried to get me to believe in fairy tale religions I would only do so so I could just stay alive another day!
I'm trying to get across that even though I am a spiritually gifted person that I have survived things that most people either couldn't survive or wouldn't survive and that I am not someone to take lightly. Because of what I have survived you want me as your friend. Let's put it that way.
So I have many New Ager friends because they tend to be the most intelligent and wealthiest people in the United States.(Do the math and demographics if you don't believe me!) There is something about the educational level bachelors, Masters or PHD
that you see in the hands of so many open minded New Agers that is amazing to watch.
It is as if the complete open mindedness of New Agers makes them perfect Entrepreneurs and many of the most innovative and productive ideas of the last 100 to 200 years have come from these kinds of open minded yet well educated and well connected people in America and Europe. If there is a place where these kinds of people congregate it tends to be Los Angeles and San Diego area, San Francisco and the Bay area, Seattle area and the Portland, Oregon area. These are probably the biggest centers for this particular brand of free thinking that creates fast progress for the survival of all the human race on earth right now!

Deep Instinct
Deep Instinct. All mammals and most creatures and humans on earth have instinct. Instinct allows everything from our hearts to beat to our lungs to breathe to knowing the warmth on our faces is sun or wind or many times our instinct saves our lives without our even knowing it thousands of times during our lives. If people are unfortunate enough to take all this for granted then I think it is high time to take a look at what instinct is all about. When people through common sense or the scientific method(I use both) codify for themselves their instinct into useful logical systems based upon tried and tested abilities then that is practical intuition.
However, Deep Instinct for me would be when elders of a species like humans or other intelligent species go deeper than normal to find ways for their groups or species to survive hundreds and thousands of years into the future. There are thousands to millions like myself now on earth doing this at present. So for me and millions of others this ferreting out a way for humans to not only survive what is coming but to thrive at 100 million to 250 million above ground or at 12 to 14 billion underground(whatever humans choose). Because it's one or the other, unfortunately. Then those that survive will take paths that come from those millions of us today trying to find ways that at least some humans can survive in bodies on earth what is coming.
Each of you reading this is a potential father or mother of the future in using your own deep instincts to try to find a way so that at least some humans can survive the next 500+ years on earth!

So for me and millions of others this ferreting out a way for humans to not only survive what is coming but to thrive at 100 million to 250 million above ground or at 12 to 14 billion underground(whatever humans choose). Because it's one or the other, unfortunately. Then those that survive will take paths that come from those millions of us today trying to find ways that at least some humans can survive in bodies on earth what is coming.
Each of you reading this is a potential father or mother of the future in using your own deep instincts to try to find a way so that at least some humans can survive the next 500+ years on earth!

Americans Start to Pay as they Go
Americans Start to pay as they go like they did during the Great Depression
I was just reading an article at the New York Times website that is called:
Economy Fitful, Americans Start to Pay as They Go
My father told me as he was growing up his father's statement about surviving the Great Depression was, "Don't Buy a God Damned thing!" and he meant it.
It was how people around the world survive hard times. Don't buy anything on credit and don't buy beyond your means. If you didn't make it this month then you can't spend it and stay financially solvent. It is as simple as that. Is this fun! No! But if one doesn't do this in this financial climate one could very easily become the one with the cardboard sign at the side of the road begging for food or work!

Suburban Girl: The Movie
Suburban Girl: The movie. I rented this movie from Netflix recently. However, it wasn't what I had expected. However, since it was about editors of a major Book publishing house I found it interesting as a life long writer.
One of the quotes during the movie was the following:
begine quote: "Most editors are failed writers
but so are most writers"
T.S. Eliot
I think this quote is true for writers as one as a writer is trying to do the impossible. To convey deep meaning with words that are in the end only symbols to represent reality. In some ways being a writer is as impossible a task as trying to convey the fulness of the experience of having a baby, making love or flying a plane without actually doing it first. It cannot be done in any useful way. Herein lies the real rage and frustration of all writers. For some, writing is as important as breathing. I am still alive at 60 after becoming a writer around age 9 because I am one of these.
