Now it's 27 degrees going for a low of 20 degrees Fahrenheit tonight. But, it is the best snow for skiing and snowboarding for the year right now. So, people are flocking to the Sierras or Cascades or driving home right now from spending the weekend in Snow resort areas like this one. So, I'm up this week skiing too with friends while the skiing is good (or good enough) this year. It's tree there might be more snow if it stays cold enough for that (but I'm not holding my breath) because who knows how long the polar vortex will last keeping it this cold and another storm will hit the town Wednesday and melt whatever snow is left in Town but likely not at the ski lift on the mountain or mountaineering ski trails my friends and I ski on without a ski lift higher up on the mountain as far as you can drive up the mountain on Everett Memorial highway from Mt. Shasta.
IF you want to know where the ski park is you head on highway 89 toward McCloud and when you get ot the top of Snowman summit on Highway 89 you turn left up towards the ski lift. However, you likely want either an all wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive because I hear the road can be pretty icy because of the low temperatures up there right now.
Note: Highway 89 intersects with Interstate 5 just south of Mt. Shasta city on the freeway where the old (I believe it was called maybe "Sky View Drive in Theater used to be in the old days.)
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
