What Happened to the Mastodons in Alaska?

What is this? a Little Ice Age?

I was thinking about the above article at "What is this?------" above. And then I thought about Mastodons in Alaska and how they are found all over the place frozen to death with flowers in their mouths. So, suddenly, the weather just changed and they were all frozen in place for thousands of years until now. So, it was springtime and they were eating flowers and herbs and grass and suddenly they were all frozen to death. The strange weather we are now experiencing on earth could possibly get that extreme once again. I think the weather is giving us hints of that for the last 20 years or so already.

I had an experience myself in the early 1980s in a micro climate that tend to surround mountains that often create their own weather. We were all hiking at about 10,000 feet on Mt. Shasta with my kids from 5 to 8 years old (3 of them) and a friend. It was about 80 degrees Fahrenheit and likely between August and October in the early 1980s. But, suddenly out of nowhere it started to cloud up and to snow on us. So, the temperature dropped from the 80s Fahenheit into the 30s or lower. We didn't have jackets on because it had been summer weather and started to slip and slide in our sandals, hiking boots and shorts on the snow all over the rocks. My oldest stepson got hysterical because he was too big to pick up and carry out of there piggyback. So, I had to hold his hand and talk to him like an adult that if he wanted to survive he had to walk out of there a couple of miles without a jacket through the snow storm. We all survived this but were starting to get hypothermic towards the end. But, luckily we made it to the 4 wheel drive truck on a dirt road before we lost it mentally from hypothermia setting in too deep. We all survived! But it makes me think about the Mastodons who had no where to go and just froze for thousands of years in Alaska one day.
