The Pressure to succeed versus the necessity to survive. Often these two things run in opposition to each other. So, young people feeling the need to succeed often self destruct in not understanding this.
First of all success is always relative. How many people have you known that said something like, "If I don't succeed as a singer or musician I'll kill myself!" This is really crazy if you are logical about it. A better point of view would be: "If I don't succeed as a musician I'll be an opportunist and play music when I can." But, often young people don't take this point of view and sometimes self destruct.
For someone else it might be:"If I don't become a doctor or nurse I will kill myself." But, this is a long road too, and many things can go wrong along the way including going bankrupt from student loans which also kills many either physically or it so financially debilitates them that they have no real lives after that.
Even Barach and Michelle Obama were not able to pay off their student loans until their 40s. Think about that. Two A students obviously two of the most successful people in their respective high school and college classes. Both become lawyers and one becomes president and even Michelle Obama (like Hillary Clinton) could eventually become President too. But, even they couldn't pay off their College student loans until they were in their 40s.
So, just remember in today's world succeeding is relative. Maybe surviving while succeeding is important to consider too. Because if you don't survive your success have you really succeeded?
