Likewise, there will be some human bodies, brains and hearts that will still operate into the next century (2100 and beyond) and they still might be operating successfully in 2200 and beyond. And this is a given here on earth (If) there are no all out nuclear wars, worldwide pandemics, or an ice age. But, even with any of the above likely 1 or more people will still be alive in 2100 to 2200 even if any of those catastrophes occur also. In fact, in regard to if pandemics or an ice age happen between now and 2100 it is almost certain at this point that there will be people born now still alive in 2100 and 2200 even then but they will just either live near the equator or inside or underground in a somewhat arctic or antarctic environment.
I think one of the next common developments will be smart phones that constantly take people's vital signs (and more) so a hospital might be notified at the slightest problem someone might be having or going to have. Preventative medicine in this way is going to save many many lives from cradle to the grave from here on worldwide.
When you start thinking about how most people didn't even make it to 40 years of age that much until the early 1900s in the U.S. and how the general life expectancy was only 60 in 1900 and only around 70 even in 1950, you see how far we really have come here in the U.S. and other developed parts of the world.
I was trying to verify this but wasn't able to yet but I heard that there are presently either 20,000 or 40,000 people living in the U.S. presently who are over 100 years of age. And whatever the present number is it is expected to double by 2020.

international body that specifically deals in longevity research, such
as the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) or Guinness World Records.
The longest unambiguously documented human lifespan is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997), who died at age 122 years, 164 days. She met Vincent van Gogh when she was 12 or 13.[1] This led to news media attention in 1985, after Calment turned 110. Subsequent investigation found documentation for Calment's age, beyond any reasonable question, in the records of her native city, Arles, France.[2] More evidence of Calment's lifespan has been produced than for any other supercentenarian; her case serves as an archetype in the methodology for verifying the ages of the world's oldest people.[3]
The longest undisputed lifespan for a male is that of Jiroemon Kimura of Japan (1897–2013), who died in June 2013 at age 116 years, 54 days. He was also the world's oldest living person from December 2012 until his death.
Since Kimura's death on 12 June 2013, Misao Okawa, also of Japan, born 5 March 1898, is the oldest living person in the world whose age can be documented. Okawa has also been the oldest living woman since the death of 115-year old Koto Okubo of Japan on 12 January 2013. Since the death of 112-year old Salustiano Sanchez of the United States, on 13 September 2013, Arturo Licata of Italy, born 2 May 1902, is the world's oldest living man.

Super old: how many people live to 100?
Centenarians
used to be a rarity but more and more people aren't just living to 100,
they're even making it past 105. How many of them are there?
When it comes to government statistics, simple titles are
important. So today's numbers were clearly labelled 'Estimates of the
Very Old' - and by 'very' they mean people aged 90 all the way up to the
105+ year-olds. How many old (old) people are there and which country
has the most?
But a lot of people pass away between their 90th and 100th birthdays - the totals plummet from 453,000 people aged 90-99 to just 12,320 aged 100+. That's still an awful lot of Christmas cards - on average 14 cards need to be written every day which sounds like a dreadfully dull duty for one Queen.
Those numbers have almost doubled in a decade - from 320 people in 2002 to 610 in 2012. Back then, there were only 20 men who lived past 105 compared to 60 now.
Although Africa is the least aged region of the world, there's more to this data than life expectancies and money. United States, Australia and New Zealand all rank behind Spain and Italy, despite having more wealth per citizen.
Does the growing number of 105+ year-olds show we're living happier, healthier lives? Share your views below

When I look at this realistically, the healthiest and wealthiest people on earth likely will be some of the ones to live the longest. So, it is genetics combined with healthy living situations, combined with good habits, combined with not having fatal accidents.
Any way you look at this it is an amazing development for the whole human race considering what life was like most places on earth in 1900 and 1800.
12,320 birthday card holders
In 2012 there were almost half a million people aged 90+ living in England and Wales. They might only represent about 1% of the total population, but given that the number has increased 33% since 2002, they're likely to become a bigger part of Britain.
610 people who have lived for more than 105 years
The 105+ age bracket is a tiny one and it's one for the women - less than 1 in 10 people in this demographic are men. Those numbers have almost doubled in a decade - from 320 people in 2002 to 610 in 2012. Back then, there were only 20 men who lived past 105 compared to 60 now.
Old men catching up with old women
But that might change. In 2002, for every man aged over 100, there were 8 women his age - that's now fallen to 6 female centenarians for every male one.Japan's elderly are running ahead
With 1,197 people aged over 90 for every 100,000 citizens, Japan has by far the world's highest concentration of old people. England and Wales beat Norway to 5th place, since residents have a 0.8 in a 100 chance of making it past 90.Although Africa is the least aged region of the world, there's more to this data than life expectancies and money. United States, Australia and New Zealand all rank behind Spain and Italy, despite having more wealth per citizen.
Why is there no data for 2013?
The numbers only go up to 2012 because of a slightly grim counting method - the government use death data to work out how many of the 'very old' are likely to still be alive.Does the growing number of 105+ year-olds show we're living happier, healthier lives? Share your views below
