It's Amazing what an Ocean Storm can do to a beach in one day's time
I went to this beach on the northern California coast yesterday at about the same time. A previous ocean storm had washed the kelp beds onto shore like they often do this time of year from storms. However, I wasn't prepared to go 24 hours later and find it so completely changed from the first day. This is why often wooden boats that crash upon shores are almost completely torn apart if they are on the rocks on the shore during a storm.
Would you have believed a storm could change the beach this much by either taking 3 foot deep of kelp that I struggled to walk through the previous day to walk down the beach barefoot to one where I had no trouble walking because it had all either pretty much been washed out to sea or buried in new sand.
