The logical answer is that a whole lot of Sunni Muslims live in England who migrated there over the years. So, this means a lot of the Sons of Sunni Muslims there might join ISIL over time. So, the problem for England becomes, "What happens when those radicalized sons return to England? Do they bomb the place or what?"
So, this likely is the main reason why the UK being militarily involved in Syria is problematic over time.
The U.S. has Sunni Muslims living here too. However, as a percentage they are much less than they are in England. Also, the U.S. is thousands of miles away from the Middle East and all it's influences whereas England is relatively close to the Middle East like France, Spain and Italy.
