The reason ISIS (ISIL) is a paradox is that the average Saudi citizen likely tacitly or implicitly supports ISIS(ISIL) because it represents the Wahabi Sunni (though extremist) point of view most prevalent in Saudi Arabia. However, the ISIS(ISIL) doctrine also believes in overthrowing the Saudi monarchy and Government. So, in this sense ISIS is a complete paradox. The people support the ISIS doctrine to some degree but the government if it allowed would also be overthrown by ISIS.
Also, ISIS wants to overthrow Iran's and Assad's government much more than it does the Saudi Government. So, some of this is semantically true too.
However, ever since the Iran war with Saddam Hussein and Iraq Iran has had a very strong military as a direct result and without the help of the U.S. during the 1980s, Iran likely might have won that war that the U.S. forced to become a stalemate with which both Iran and Iraq were livid about the U.S. involvement and thousands and thousands died on both Iraqi and Iranian sides especially children in minefields and from chemical weapons. It was a very horrific war that the U.S. aided whoever was losing because we didn't really want either of them to win that war.
But now, ISIS threatens the monarchy and thereby threatens oil prices and the world oil market now and the Saudi Government is building it's Great Wall against ISIS (literally along most of the Iraqi and Saudi Border.
So Iran is using ISIS right now along with the Houthis and Al Qaeda to "Bring down" the monarchy and government of Saudi Arabia. They are behind the scenes manipulating the down fall of the Saudi Government right now as we speak.
To all knowledgeable observers this is pretty obvious. Why wouldn't Iran overthrow Saudi Arabia, raise oil prices for itself and Russia and other oil based economies right now. In fact, any government that wants oil prices to raise might join Iran and Russia in overthrowing the Saudi Monarchy right now, which is part of the reason King Abdullah likely died worrying about this. This likely is just a fact of life in that part of the world.
