Important quote regarding Atmospheric rivers into California

begin quote: "Ironically, smaller atmospheric rivers are not all bad: between 1950 and 2010 they supplied 30 to 50% of California's rain and snow in the span of about 10 days each year."

end quote from:

atmospheric rivers pdf.

So, a good portion of what everyone loved about California from 1950 until 2010 came from these same atmospheric rivers causing flooding in Washington and California and likely Oregon now as well.

Something to understand about California is usually without some flooding we never get enough water to sustain us. However, unless it is in snowpack it isn't much use in Spring, Summer and Fall.

Because mostly there is NO rain or no rain enough to really notice much between the months of April and October most years except at the very north from Redding North into the Cascades into Oregon and Washington or far south from Monsoon desert rains hitting southern California into Mexico and Arizona and New Mexico during the summers sometimes.
